Every episode starts from a real problem: the first rig for recording at home, the step up when that rig is no longer enough, audio on Linux when the drivers misbehave. From there I pick seven products that actually solve it, from the cheap end to the serious one.
These are not rankings and not paid reviews: I talk about gear I use or have had in my hands, and when something has a flaw I say so. For each piece you get what it solves, who it is for, and the trap to check before you pay — the wrong connector, the power supply that is not in the box, the latency quoted only at 48 kHz.
Episodes run ten to fifteen minutes and have chapters: if you only care about the fifth product, jump straight there. Links sit under every video, and the same list exists in writing on the blog, with the details that fly past in two seconds on screen.
How I choose the seven products
- It has to solve a real problem, not add a line to the shopping list.
- There has to be something for a beginner and something for someone who has already spent: no episode is all thousand-euro gear.
- It has to be available now, not a discontinued model you can only find used.
- If it has a known flaw it still goes in, with the flaw written on it.
Questions people ask
How often does an episode come out?
There is no fixed schedule: one comes out when I have enough material for seven products that hold up. On average one every two or three weeks.
Are the videos in English too?
Yes, every episode has its English version with the same list and the same links. Spanish does not exist yet: above you get the English one, with a badge telling you so.
Are the links affiliate links?
Yes, they are Amazon affiliate links: they cost you nothing extra and earn me a small percentage. It is the only way these videos pay for themselves, and it does not change a word of what I say about a product.
